Local Authors Comics Reading at Fantom Comics

Moving slightly east of campus, we’ll be co-hosting a comics reading at Fantom Comics  this Saturday, September 30 from 7-9pm. Join us to hear selections from authors and artists Kendra & Kat, Athena Naylor, and Anna Sellheim!

Fantom Comics is located near Dupont Circle at 2010 P St. NW, Washington D.C.

In the meantime, why not learn more about our readers?

Image result for kendra kat comicsKendra & Kat have been making comics together for 7 years, and plotting over cupcakes far longer. With comics and zines that run the gamut from queer space pirate shenanigans to illustrated cookbooks inspired by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, they are driven by sparkles and fun. Their work has been featured in anthologies such as Coven and Purity, and they’ve been a staple in the DC-area comic scene since tabling at DC Zinefest back in 2012! You can find their work at GoTeamKK.wordpress.com.

Athena Naylor is a cartoonist and writer principally working in autobiography, though she maintains an affinity for fiction. Originally from Milwaukee, she currently lives in Washington D.C., having recently graduated with a masters in art history from the George Washington University. (Unsurprisingly, she wrote her thesis on comics). You can keep apprised on her creative projects via instagram, where she updates most frequently @athena.naylor
