Visual Art Contest Spring 2016

So to Speak, a feminist journal of literature and art at George Mason University invites current MFA students and professional artists to submit to the So to Speak Journal Visual Art Contest.

Details:

The Judge for the First Annual Visual Art Contest is Virginia Treanor, Associate Curator, National Museum of Women in the Arts.

The winner will be awarded $500, 2 complimentary issues, and publication in the journal. The entry fee is $15. The deadline is November 15, 2015.

So to Speak is open to review any form of visual artwork. Past issues have included photography, drawing, painting, digital media, and images of various installations and sculpture. We welcome submissions including performance, digital and new media, photography and all 2D and 3D visual art forms.

Entries should include:

*Cover Letter – Cover Letter should include your name, address, phone number, email address, and brief bio.
*Resume
*Artist Statement – Enter a description of submitted work (300 words max).
*Images – Please submit 5-10 images. All entries of 2D and 3D work must be in JPG format at 300 dpi. Any video entries must be MP4 or MOV files. For Please submit individual entries with file names formatted as LastName_Title.
*Image List – Include an image list with titles, year, dimensions, and medium.
